As you can see from my website, I’m offering patients information to help them through their fertility journey. My plan with the GP portal will be to provide updates on advances in IVF, future educational events that you may be interested in attending, and more direct access to me.
I am happy to receive direct calls with respect to individual patients or any other issues you may have in relation to fertility or gynaecology. To gain this access please ring my rooms on +61 2 91384222 and ask to be put through to my mobile phone.
Obviously, I’m more than happy to see any patients requiring investigation and management of their fertility issues or general gynaecological problems. Please arrange those referrals through my rooms.
You may be aware that I have particular interests in polycystic ovarian syndrome, recurrent miscarriage, and menopausal issues.
My approach to the treatment of infertility is more conservative than many of my colleagues. I believe “low tech” provides a solution for a significant number of patients and I reserve IVF for those that are unsuccessful with that initial strategy.
I certainly do not believe that IVF is the immediate answer to fertility problems unlike some of my colleagues. As a senior member of the profession, I share recent concerns that IVF has been used as a first line treatment for infertility.
Please feel free to refer your patients to the podcast which as a valuable resource and can be accessed via the menu above.
I’m also more than happy to correspond with you via email. Please contact me on michael.chapman@unsw.edu.au.
